To be a member of Easton Volunteer EMS one is not required to be EMT certified. Easton EMS offers training classes to allow any individual to obtain the certification necessary to work with our service. Additionally, we offer CPR certification courses to the public. If you are interested in taking a course through EMS, call us or check our homepage for updates on upcoming classes.
Upon application, Easton EMS does a complete background check, drug test and interview. After successful completion of interview process, members are placed on training status until training staff feels the trainee is ready.
Full members are eligible for a tax abatement ranging from $500 to $1500 depending upon the amount of hours volunteered during the year. Easton also provides tuition reimbursement for EMT and MRT classes after the completion of 1 year of service with the department. We also pay for continuing education and recertification.
We are currently accepting applications from non-certified, as well as certified EMT’s and paramedics. However, Easton EMS is a BLS (basic life support) department and does not provide a paramedic level of care.
An application, available in PDF format, can be obtained by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. It can either be completed digitally or by hand, and then printed. Once printed, it can be mailed or faxed to Easton EMS, as well as dropped off at our building.
